Denise Bergeland

I have been an adventurer since birth and inherited my Dad's love for travel. Raised in Atlanta, GA, I became a registered X-ray technologist and worked with Dr. Robert Egan at Emory University, training doctors in the interpretation of mammography. I traveled all of the US. Joining 3M company in Los Angeles, I became a top sales person and was promoted to headquarters in St. Paul, MN. The last few years of my career with 3M, I traveled the world as an international business development manager and vowed to always be on the go.

My first international trip was with my Dad to England, Egypt and the Holy Land. It was quite an adventure as President Carter had sent troops to rescue our hostages' in Iran. Unaware of this, we were held in the Jordanian airport for 12 hours by armed guards. My career with 3M took me to most of Europe and South America as well as Asia. I became the first woman to become an expat to Asia, living in both Singapore and Hong Kong. Responsible for all of Asia, I traveled to every county expect Vietnam multiple times. I was well acquainted with China, visiting more than 20 cities. Vietnam is on my bucket list. After my husband's passing my love for my godchild took me back to Australia. We visited Bali for a second time and then traveled on to Hong Kong to visit friends. Traveling with a dear friend I have enjoyed Italy, Greece, Turkey, Malta, Portugal, the Caribbean, and Spain AND my favorite trip of all South Africa. April of 2019, we were ecstatic about our Amawaterway"s river cruise in the Douro Valley of Portugal. Since then I have river cruised on the Rhine and Danube 5 times. Also river cruised in France from Bordeaux and in the Netherlands for Tulip Time. Seabourn, Regent and Silversea are my favorite ocean cruise lines and have enjoyed the Mediterranian and Alaska. Abercrombie and Kent Villas in Provence and Tuscany with freinds can't be beat. We love the historial aspect of the 300 year of Villas and their locations.
