We had more than the usual difficulty with my wife's mobility problem. Couldn't get off at the 2 ports in Italy. We wish the ship sponsored more trips in which provision was made for people who can't access high buses or need to bring a scooter. Otherwise, all was good, especially food.

It wasn't a Caribbean trip; it was a trip to eastern Canadian provinces and Bermuda, New York. Disappointed that Baie Comeau was cancelled because of fires and smoke but the substitute was ok, PEI was a good substitute for Connor Brook which was cancelled supposedly for icebergs. Quebec City and Bermuda was our favorite stops.

Regent continues to give exceptional service and a lovely experience. The downside to the Navigator is there are only 4 dining options for dinner-room service, the main dining room, Compass Rose, Setti Mari in the Veranda buffet and Prime 7, which is limited access via a reservation system. But, the food was excellent in Compass Rose so it was fine. The Amazon was surprising by how large it actually was. Overall, a great cruise.

Navigator, the smallest ship in Regent's ocean fleet, began service as a Russian research vessel with an ice-strengthened hull in 1991. It tends to roll in even moderate seas. The food and service in the dining rooms and pool deck were uniformly good, sometimes outstanding. I started each day with hot tea brought to the cabin on time followed by squeezed to order vegetable juice combos and the varied breakfast buffet. A minus factor in catering, however, was that lunch entrees in both the dining room and the Veranda buffet were often identical. This lack of variety in a luxury operation is s

“Too small, too old, too crowded!”

Written description of the Explorer on Regent Seven Seas media did not really tell the truth. This ship is old! Our cabin was beige from door to head to balcony. We have been on other Regent cruises so we had a certain level of expectation. So disappointed. The staff are the best thing about this ship. Late arrival, canceled ports of call, excursions on school buses are just a few of our disappointments. We have encountered gales before in the North Atlantic with 20 foot waves but never been sick. Winds caused our locked balcony door to blow open! Waves on the 10th floor! Wasn’t there anot

Ship was delayed 8 hours arriving, 2 ports cancelled, 2 shore excursions cancelled at other stops “for operational reasons”, veranda door flew open during storm per maintenance man due to “old ship”. Solution was duct tap. Limited dining options and limited menu. Time to retire ship. Never sailing on Navigator again. Reconsidering RSSC

I've never had this problem before, but the next suite to ours had a couple, whom we never met--even at the block party--who most nights went to bed with the TV playing loudly, not to be turned off until something like 3:30 AM!

Two Russian ports were cancelled because of storms in the White and Barents Seas. The Destinations Desk team were just outstanding as they pulled together tours in three additional stops in Norway, which is absolutely the most gorgeous country on the face of the earth.

“Awful Excursion Management!”
1 Star
Cruise Date: 06/29/2019

Regent has no idea on how to properly manage and organize shore excursions when using tender landings. Everyone of our tours was late starting and even later finishing. One tour suppose to be 7 hours long took almost 12 hours. When arriving at tender dock - over 150 passengers awaited the tender for over 35 minutes - as regent chose to run only one life boat rather than several.

The Amazon was interesting. It does not have a lot of animals as we expected. We rarely saw any mosquito. My back yard has more more mosquitos than the Amazon. The meeting of the rivers and the hike to the Tapajos National park were great. The naturist guide was very knowledgeable. The hike was educational. We did not realize that the Amazon forest has so many plants/trees for medicinal purposes. The Regent Cruise was the best cruise that we have been cruising. The service was second to none. The food was wonderful. We had lobster and filet mignon until we didn’t want it any more. All the res
