“Alaska on the Cunard Queen Elizabeth”
5 Stars
Cruise Date: 06/21/2024
Destination: Alaska
Cunard Queen Elizabeth is a beautiful ship and the service we received on board was very good. As with any cruise line, there are areas that could be improved but the overall experience was wonderful. The ship is elegant and oddly quiet at times. In fact, there were times we almost felt like it was our own private yacht with nobody around. There is plenty to do on the boat for activities but in a relaxed way. With that said, to be honest, if you are looking for a "fun ship" Cunard may not be for you. If you are looking for a relaxed atmosphere and the feel of a floating castle then this is you

I like cruising with Cunard because of the art class and the duplicate bridge tournaments on sea days. However the art instructor on this cruise was very poor (uniike other Cunard Cruises I have taken). It was clear that she had not attempted with the watercolour paints in the kit the paintings that she wanted us to paint. She did not know the kit had no black paint so doing Japanese black ink painting picture and Northern light pictures were almost impossible to paint. She just handed out pictures that she had not even tried to paint.... She did not teach any watercolour techniques but

Cunard has deteriorated over the last few years. Food was mediocre. One elevator in the B stairway was inoperable the entire trip, totally unacceptable. Should never be tolerated.

Rated a good 9/10. All staff were excellent and helpful Britannia dining room for all evening meals with anytime dining. Excellent choices. We reserved and used the same wait staff (Wilfred) and Sommelier (Anthony) each night because they were excellent. Balcony cabin seemed a bit smaller than many other cruise lines, but good storage space. Ship was outfitted in superb materials and well maintained. Avoya travel agent, Wendell Locklin was 2nd best one that I used. ( First was a friend we used for 12 cruises before retiring) Would not hesitate using him again.

The Cunard ship was beautiful. An art deco decor that was beautiful and ship had everything we needed for a wonderful vacation. Steward attended to all our room needs and was friendly and approachable. The food was amazing and beverage and food staff catered to every wish. The only improvements would be to update the couch/chairs in the suite - it was really not comfortable to sit on and needed to be replaced, and to upgrade and offer a better internet/wifi service.

The Wi-Fi was abominable and I think we paid over seven hundred dollars for it. My diamond status didn’t prove to be very helpful and we didn’t think the upper echelon were very responsive. I guess we are used to smaller ships who don’t make you feel like you’re be nickel and dimed every day. I think my QE card was worn out by the end of the trip

“Enjoyable, relaxing cruise”

Although it was not perfect in every respect, we did enjoy our trip. The service was fantastic, lecturers were good, the many varied food selections in main dining room offered a good choice for each meal. I wish brewed coffee were available without ordering room service instead of Nescafe in the stateroom and after meals it was not always brewed. We won't travel on such a large ship again because we prefer a smaller ship with fewer passengers, but there was nothing wrong with it. Our stateroom was poorly located, and next time we will select one that is not next to a noisy mechanical repair r

Cunard was it's usual quality experience. The food as always excellent as was the service. We were also upgraded to a suite which made it doubly enjoyable. It was also an excellent itinerary. Check-in was efficient and friendly. Cunard remains our benchmark against which we measure other cruiselines.

This was our third cruise with Cunard. The food quality was less than previous trips. We had trouble getting on to the ship because Cunard was not preparee for the Coast Guard and Immigration inspection. They did nothing to help us as we stood in line for over 3 hours. The ports and excursions were not very good. We do not plan to ever use Cunard again.
