Holland America plans to bring a new vision to their fleet starting with the arrival of Koningsdam that is sure to enhance the cruise vacation experience – stay tuned for updates!
The Koningsdam receives high marks for its outstanding service, beautiful ship design, and generally excellent food. Many guests praise the friendly and attentive staff, spacious and clean cabins, and enjoyable itineraries. However, there are recurring criticisms regarding repetitive or underwhelming entertainment, crowded public spaces, and inconsistent food quality in some venues. Excursions are often described as overpriced or poorly organized, and some guests note issues with embarkation/disembarkation and extra charges. Overall, the ship is well-regarded for comfort and service, but there is room for improvement in entertainment variety, excursion value, and crowd management.
Service is consistently highlighted as a standout feature, with many guests describing the staff as friendly, attentive, and hardworking. Even when other aspects fell short, service was often praised as a redeeming quality.
